Protocol Tab Details

Details on the Protocol tab for NTPwatch Properties in the NTpage Client.

  • Named Pipes - Select this if you want to used Named Pipes as the method of communications between the NTpage Watcher and the NTpage Server. Note: If you select this option you must enter the computer name of the NTpage Server in order to communicate with it.

  • Computer Name of the NTpage Server - This is the Computer Name defined in Windows NT (you find this in Control Panel, Network, Identification Tab, Computer Name:)

  • TCP/IP - Select this if you want to used TCP/IP as the method of communications between the NTpage Watcher and the NTpage Server. Note: If you select this option you must enter the TCP/IP Address of the NTpage Server . You must also enter the TCP/IP port to use. The default TCP/IP Port is 4778, if this does not work consult your system administrator to see if they are operating NTpage on a different TCP/IP Port.

  • Test Communication with Server (BUTTON) - Click this button to run a communications test between the NTpage Client and NTpage Server to see if the changes you have just made will work.
